Litigation Docketing Analyst

Venable LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Docketing Analyst to join our thriving Litigation Docketing team in our Washington DC headquarters. 
The ideal candidate will be responsible for... 

  • Independently calendaring all deadlines & related events for firm litigations & bankruptcy matters
  • Creating, reviewing, & distributing calendar & case reports
  • Conducting research on agency, court & judge’s rules
  • Responding to requests from attorneys, legal administrative assistants & paralegals regarding calendared events & deadlines, court procedures & rules
  • Providing recommendations to the Litigation Docketing Administrator to continually improve the firm’s docketing & calendaring best practices, processes & procedures 
  • Assisting Litigation Docketing Administrator in conducting ongoing effective firm training programs on docketing systems, policies, & protocols to Legal & Support Staff

The successful candidate will demonstrate...

  • A Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate or experience/education equivalent 
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as Adobe PDF Creator (or equivalent). Experience with MS Access (or similar DB software)
  • Extensive experience computing deadlines for state, federal, and appellate courts 
  • Significant  knowledge of litigation processes, court rules and procedures
  • Ability to research, analyze and summarize issues in writing, excellent attention to detail 
  • Ability to work in a high priority, fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and business objectives
  • Ability to work overtime, when required
