Legal Administrative Assistant - Litigation

Venable LLP is seeking a motivated, organized and team oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to support our group of litigators in our thriving San Francisco Office.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for... 

  • Supporting the lifecycle of client matters
  • Reading, prioritizing, routing and following up on incoming client communications
  • Managing daily workflow of assigned tasks, including working in advance of deadlines
  • Ensuring timely and accurate capture and entry of attorney time
  • Coordinating with accounting to complete monthly billing process
  • Performing administrative duties as needed, including making travel arrangements, processing expenses, answering telephones, maintaining attorney calendars and contact lists, scheduling engagements

 The successful candidate will demonstrate...

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of three to five years of related experience, experience supporting a litigation practice preferred
  • Understanding of California state and Federal court filing procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and usage of document management system (Work 10/WorkSite/FileSite)
  • Ability to independently and efficiently prioritize workflow, and maintain an organized task schedule
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to various practice management styles of assigned legal staff
  • Sets and consistently achieves self-performance standards relating to accountability, ownership of assignments and client service
  • Desire to learn new tasks and technologies
