Legal Administrative Assistant - Trademark -Copyright

Venable LLP is seeking a detail oriented and driven Legal Administrative Assistant to provide support to our Trademark, Copyright & Licensing practice group located in our Century City office.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...

  • Performing administrative duties as needed, including making travel arrangements, processing expenses, answering telephones, maintaining attorney calendars and contact lists, and scheduling engagements as needed
  • Assisting with management of lifecycle of trademark matters including: Drafting and sending routine correspondence, proactively tracking impending deadlines, assisting with electronic filings via TEAS, researching and acquiring status of trademark matters and assisting with new business intake.
  • Processing foreign associate communications and payments.

The successful candidate will demonstrate...

  • Minimum of 3+ years partner-level administrative support experience. Trademark/ Copyright experience highly preferred. 
  • Ability to effectively utilize IP docketing software (Inprotech), USPTO online resources (TESS, TEAS, TSDR, TTABVUE, ESTTA)
  • Proficient knowledge and usage of document management system (WorkSite/FileSite preferred)
  • General knowledge of federal rules, regulations, and U.S. and international Intellectual Property Law
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
